Payments

Clear pricing, and no surprises on the invoice

Every job is quoted in writing before it starts. This page sets out how and when payment is taken, and what appears on your invoice.

How to pay

Three ways to settle an invoice

Whichever you use, you get an itemised invoice showing labour, materials and any VAT separately.

  • Preferred

    Bank transfer

The standard method. Account details appear on your invoice, along with a reference to quote. No fees either way.

  • Secure link

    Card payment

Every invoice carries a secure payment link for debit and credit cards. Card details are handled entirely by the payment provider and are never seen or stored by us.

  • Trade & agents

    Invoice on account

For landlords, letting agents and commercial customers we can invoice on agreed terms, with purchase order references where you need them.

When it is due

Staged to the size of the job

Small jobs and repair visits
Paid in full on completion, once you are satisfied with the work. Nothing up front.
Larger jobs
Usually a deposit to cover materials, then the balance on completion. Anything longer than a week may be staged against agreed milestones. The split is set out on the quote before you accept it.
Materials
If we supply materials they are itemised separately at cost. You are welcome to buy your own instead — we will tell you exactly what to order.

On every invoice

What you receive

  • An itemised breakdown of labour and materials
  • The quote reference the work was carried out against
  • Any agreed variations, listed separately
  • VAT shown separately where it applies
  • Payment terms and the date payment is due
  • A secure card payment link, and bank transfer details
  • Purchase order reference where you have supplied one

Questions

Payment questions

Do I pay anything for a quote?

No. Quotes and site visits are free, and there is no obligation to proceed.

Is the quoted price fixed?

Yes, for the work described on it. The only thing that changes a fixed price is a change to the work — either something you ask for, or something genuinely hidden that comes to light once we open up. In both cases you see the revised figure and agree it before any extra cost is incurred.

When is payment due?

Invoices are payable within 14 days unless different terms have been agreed in writing. Trade and agency accounts can be set up on longer terms.

Do you charge VAT?

Quotes state clearly whether VAT applies. If our VAT position changes, quotes and invoices will show the VAT separately and our registration number will be displayed.

Can I cancel after accepting a quote?

Where a contract is agreed away from our business premises — which covers most home visits — you have a statutory 14-day right to cancel. If you have asked us to begin within that period you may be liable for the work already carried out. Full detail is in our terms of service.

What if I am not happy with the work?

Tell us before you pay, or as soon as you notice. We walk the completed work with you at handover for exactly this reason. Anything that falls short of what was quoted gets put right.
