Most of the value in a decorating job is in the work you never see. Filling, sanding, caulking and priming determine whether a finish still looks right in three years, or whether it flashes, cracks and peels within one. We price preparation as part of the job rather than as an extra, because skipping it is the most common reason a room needs redoing.

We decorate occupied homes, rentals between tenancies, and commercial premises. Furniture is moved and covered, floors are protected, and edges are cut in by hand. The work area is left clean at the end of each day, not only at the end of the job.

What to expect

How we approach it

Preparation comes first: Cracks are raked out and filled, nail holes stopped, and glossed surfaces keyed before anything is painted. Bare or repaired areas are spot-primed so the topcoat sits evenly.
Materials specified to the room: Kitchens and bathrooms get a moisture-resistant system; ceilings get a matt that will not flash; woodwork gets a durable eggshell or satin. We tell you what we are using and why.
Protection and clean-up: Dust sheets and low-tack masking throughout, and a tidy site at the end of every day. Leftover paint is labelled and left with you for future touch-ups.
